If you were a breed of dog what would you be and why?
I'd be a Shih Tzu. I think because they are yappy and annoying. And cute and fluffy and pretty.

That's very interesting Caroline. Doing anything special this evening?
I'm having a business meeting. That sounds so boring doesn't it? I went to the cinema last night, and saw Mrs Potter.

That's got that scrawny b…
Yes! Renee Zelwegger was great in it! It's a bit girly though.

The sort of movie a Shih Tzu might see?
Yes, I believe Shih Tzus everywhere would enjoy this film.

Sophie Turnall, 20, student at the College of Art [Photograph number 0527]

Hello Sophie. If you were interviewing me, what question would you ask me?
I don't know. You didn't say the questions would be this hard.

Ok. If you were a breed of dog what would you be and why?
Erm. A Golden Labrador?

And why?
I don't know.

Great! Now if you had magic snow that you could build anything out of what would you build?
A sandcastle.

A Sandcastle made of snow? That very creative. Would you live in it?
Only at weekends. I'm working tonight.

Gareth Bury, 25, Student of Music production technology [Photograph number 0529]

Hello young man! (Interviewer winks.) If you were interviewing me, what question would you ask me?
What the hell are you doing?

And if you were a breed of dog which one would you be and why?
A Saint Bernard. Because they always have that barrelly thing with alcohol in it around their necks don't they?

Yes that is rather useful. You'd have lots of friends wouldn't you Gareth?
Yes.

If you could build something out of magic snow what would it be and why?
A giant head. To scare you with.

That's very special Gareth, thank you. Are you free tonight?
Sorry, I'm playing with my band. Who by the way are called Underling. It's in Dunfermline. But we're here next week, if you would like to come and review... Ahem. I mean see me play...

Agnes Chambers, 450+, Wench [Photograph number 0531]

Hello Agnes, if you were interviewing me what would you ask me?
Why are you wearing your husband's trousers?

Erm. Agnes?
Yes...

- If you were a breed of dog, which one would you be and why?
A ghost dog of course. Do you know how old I am?

And the magic snow?
I haven't seen snow in 450 years. I've been buried in Mary King's Close.

Ok, that seems reasonable. Any plans this evening?
Wenching, at my local tavern. I love it.

Waled, 27, student [Photograph number 0535]

Hi Waled! Can I ask you some questions?
Yes, that would be good because I can practice.

I love an eager pupil! So Waled, if you were a breed of dog which one would you be and why?
I hate dogs.

So you'd probably be very unhappy wouldn't you?
Yes. I would be.

Ok, moving on, if you could make something out of magic snow what would it be?
I really don't know, these questions are very strange.

Imagine you could make anything! A Sandcastle, a car, even some shoes! Would you make shoes?
Yes, ok, I'll take the shoes.

Stuart Johnson, Publisher, quite old [Photograph number 0537]

Hello, what is your name?
Here's my card.

Brilliant! So Stuart if you were interviewing me what would you ask me?
I would ask you, what are you doing?

But really Stuart, what if I was a celebrity? Sure 'what are you doing?' wouldn't cut the mustard?
You will be a celebrity if you keep this up.

Why thank you! (Blushes.) If you were a breed of dog what would you be and why?
A husky, it's an Alsatian with a short wheelbase.

But Stuart, why don't you just be an Alsatian?
I don't know, maybe I want to be like an Alsatian in disguise.

Fascinating! If you were to make something out of magic snow what would it be?
A sledge. For the Husky.

Snap! Me too!
