Son of Dave goes Bonkers

Wandering bluesman, Son of Dave, is carrying a new venture in that suitcase of his. Armed with harmonica and wooden percussion board, the Canadian musician has transformed Dizzee Rascal and Armand Van Helden’s hit ‘Bonkers’ into an amalgamation of beat-boxing, bluesy beats and hard-breathing folky vocals.

The cover track is the musician’s latest since he took on Daft Punk’s Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger a few months ago. In a statement about Dizzee Rascal’s recent chart-topper, Son of Dave said: “I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. It’s quite an amusing tune, though it has too many words for my taste.” Sense of humour intact, Son of Dave and his version of ‘Bonkers’, accompanied by an endearing video, can be found below...
