Registration is now open for the sixth annual Edinburgh Moonwalk, which will take place on 11 June 2011. If you’re unfamiliar with the Moonwalk concept, it is essentially a power walking night marathon across the capital, involving thousands of women and men sporting decorated bras and raising money for breast cancer charity Walk the Walk. Running is banned, and visible bra wearing compulsory. In the past five years it has raised £11.5million, and won thousands of loyal participants.

You can either do a Half Moon (13.1 miles) or a Full Moon walk (26.2 miles), setting off at midnight from Inverleith Park. The Moonwalk offers the chance to take part in a unique event, raise money for charity, decorate your bra (it’s Moulin Rouge themed this year) and even rub shoulders with national treasure Lorraine Kelly. To enter, go to www.walkthewalk.org and fill in the form.
