Port Seton is a dark place, no bus goes and English is rarely spoken

The classic tale is given the East Lothian flavour in Dick McWhittington (you see what they've done there?). Written and directed by Liam Rudden of The Edinburgh Evening News, this pantomime moves the story to the Garden County, where Port Seton is a dark place, no bus goes and English is rarely spoken. The cast is ably led by saucy Katrina Bryan - playing Dick's love interest
Alice Fitzwarren - who is kidnapped by the Rat King and taken into the bowels
of Musselburgh below the city's streets. As with all good pantos there's plenty of jokes and sweet-throwing for the kids as well as more drollery for the (sometimes) more mature adults - but both groups love the Widow Campie, played by Graham Crammond, who almost seems to like drag too much, but whips up the audience suitably nonetheless.
