A Dram, A Snog and A Song

Kissing and alcohol: what could make for a better night out?

Article by David McNally | 04 May 2010

Whisky Kisses tells the story of the Glenigma, a highly prized malt whisky fought over by two 2 international bidders at auction, lured to a remote Highland distillery from New York and Tokyo. If the new musical showing at the Lemon Tree in May. seems familar, it may be because it featured in the BBC Documentary 'MacMusical' back in late 2007, where it narrowly missed out on the top prize of a full staging at Eden Court.

Despite this the show has a good pedigree, wowing the Fringe crowd in 2008 and closing out the Highland Year of Culture in January of the same year. Right Lines Productions are putting the finishing touches on their own staging, at the Lemon Tree on the 8th of May.

Scottish conceived and themed musicals are thin on the ground, and if you're a fan of both the water of life and people bursting into song at the drop of a tartan tammy then you could do worse than give Whisky Kisses a go.

See website for full details of the tour: look out for the special events at distilleries!
