Victoria Beckham is in talks to set up a New York modelling agency.

The singer-turned-fashion-designer is said to be discussing a deal which would see her create the new business with her manager Simon Fuller, who helped propel The Spice Girls to worldwide fame.

Simon already has a stake in London-based Storm Models, and is convinced Victoria's contacts in the fashion world would make a similar venture just as successful.

"Simon knows that Victoria is very savvy when it comes to fashion," a source said. "Victoria is a key asset to Simon and he wants her to take on a major role." Simon takes some credit for the success of Victoria's high-end dress collection, which she launched in 2008. He helped her get in touch with designer Roland Mouret, who gave her invaluable help and advice.Simon reportedly sees this as proof he and the 35-year-old star could build a hugely profitable fashion business.

The source added to the Daily Mail newspaper: "Simon's first foray into fashion was to team up Roland Mouret and Victoria, which was a huge success."
