Space NK founder Nicky Kinnard personally tests the brand’s new products.

Nicky loves creating new lotions and moisturisers for the skincare brand, and insists the best way to ensure the recipes are right is to try them out herself. “I test the products, and I have a whole range of people whose opinions I trust to do the same,” she explained.

Nicky opened her first store in London’s Covent Garden in 1993, and now has shops across Britain and America. At first, she toured Europe looking for the perfect rosa mosqueta and argan oils for her products, but now enjoys people seeking her out to give her new ideas.

She told the Sunday Telegraph newspaper: “It’s like beginning again when someone comes to be with something that really works. It takes me right back to the very start of everything and it makes me feel nostalgic and excited at the same time, and I just have to have the product in my store before anyone else does.”
