Rihanna will never dress down

21-year-old singer Rihanna is renowned for her fashion-forward style, and has wowed with a series of edgy haircuts in recent months. Although she enjoys dressing to impress, she admits the pressure to look good can be stifling.

“You definitely have to be more aware of looking your best because the cameras won’t stop rolling,” she said. “The second you dress down, they’re like, ‘Wait a minute, she wore those jeans two days in a row.’ ”

Rihanna is due to play a show in London to launch her new album Rated R next Monday. She is thrilled to be spending time in the UK capital as she finds the fashion available there so refreshing.

She told Daily Mirror newspaper: “The fashion scene in London is just incredible right now and I am going to shop, shop, shop. I love Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney. They are always ahead of everything to me.

“I get most of my creative ideas from visiting the city. When I started in this business I was 17 and I’m now 21. My tastes in a lot of things changed. Not only has my attitude changed, but also the way I dress has changed.”
