Nicole Richie likes Joel Madden with a “dirty face”

Joel Madden is growing a beard because Nicole Richie likes him with a “dirty face”.

The Good Charlotte star hasn’t shaved his face for five weeks, and has vowed to stay away from razors until January because his partner thinks his facial hair is sexy. His fans have also supported the decision, after Joel asked them what they thought of his new look.

The singer posted on his Twitter account: “Already in bed. Kid’s Choice Awards tomorrow with Delta Goodrem. Gotta get some sleep. Should I shave? Haven't in five weeks. Flipping a coin.”

After being inundated with messages from fans, Joel wrote: “Ok so the tweets have spoken. 80 per cent say I should not shave. If that is your wish, then I will not shave. By mid-January I should have a proper beard.”

He later posted: “1. It’s movember 2. Nicole likes me with a dirty face 3. I’m lazy. Three good reasons while Joel should not shave.”
