Janet Jackson is planning to marry in January.

The singer has reunited with her long-time lover Jermaine Dupri and the pair are set to wed in the New Year.

An insider said: “They hope to walk down the aisle after the first of the year.”

Janet and Jermaine split in June to give the 43-year-old singer “space” to grieve following the death of her older brother Michael. They stayed close friends throughout their separation, with Jermaine sending Janet lavish gifts every week.

Janet now feels ready to move on with her life and has asked Jermaine to marry her.

The Jackson family are said to be thrilled about the reunion, and are already counting down the days to the secret nuptials.

The source continued to America’s OK! magazine: “They’re keeping their fingers crossed that Jermaine will be an official part of the family.”

Meanwhile, Janet will give a “special opening performance” at the American Music Awards on November 22.

She is expected to dedicate the segment to Michael, who has been posthumously nominated for five awards.
