Hulk Hogan was left bloodied and dazed after he was attacked during a press conference in Australia.

The 56-year-old wrestling star was giving an interview at Sydney’s Star City casino when an old rival, wrestler Ric Flair, broke through security and threw Hogan from the stage.

As Hogan lay on the floor, bleeding profusely from his head, Ric threw a table at him before whipping him with his belt and punching him repeatedly in the face.

Security pulled Ric off Hogan, who had to be helped to his feet and led out of the event.

Half an hour later, Hogan returned to the stage and announced the attack had been a stunt that had gone wrong.

Still looking confused and glassy-eyed, he told the shocked crowd: “It took me about half an hour to get freshened up before I ran back out. It got a bit crazy. I didn’t plan on going backwards off the stage. It was all a bit of a shock.”
