Hilary Swank is a “homebody”

Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank is happiest spending time with her partner John Campisi and his son, six-year-old Sam. She loves nothing better than relaxing in the home they share as it is the place where she feels she can really be herself.

“I am a total homebody,” she said. “I love to cook and have downtime with John and Sam. Home is where I recharge, it’s the one place where I can be me. Because this life can be very stressful and I often find myself in difficult environments.”

Hilary has a great relationship with Sam and relishes in her role as his step-mother. She admits her fame can make things hard for the family as she is constantly followed by paparazzi, but accepts that is part of her job.

She said: “I have never courted fame and I don’t think I have ever been regarded as a celebrity. Of course, I do get followed by the paparazzi, but they would follow any actor because that’s their job. It’s not something I enjoy, but I don’t get followed too much.

“The thing is that I love my job. I love being an actor. And I have had to come to terms with the fact that doing this – I suppose I must admit that that’s being a celebrity – it part of the job.”
