Eva Mendes uses sexuality

Eva Mendes uses her sexuality to win movie roles.

The stunning actress has no qualms about vamping it up if she thinks it will help her get a part. She admits she ramped up her sensuality when shooting her recent Calvin Klein advertising campaign, which sees her lounging on a semi-nude man dressed in her underwear.

The picture has caused outrage in New York, with some locals branding it “semi pornographic”. They claim it is so suggestive it should not be on display where children can see it.

“I don’t allow myself to be typecast, but when I have to turn up the heat and turn up the sexuality and I do an amazing Calvin Klein campaign it’s very conscious, that’s no accident,” Eva told FOX News. “It’s very methodical on my part. If I feel it's appropriate to show some nudity in the scenes then I go for it. As much as I use my sexuality, I have never felt exploited. I feel like it’s on my terms and I have no problem with it.”

Eva plays a prostitute in new movie Bad Lieutenant, in which she stars alongside Nicolas Cage. She had no problem portraying a sex worker, insisting she is happy to play any type of character from the fringes of society. “I want crazier, edgier, darker, and grittier. I am still a student, I still go to acting class, the darker, more conflicted, the more flawed the better.”

Despite loving the part, Eva admits there were some downsides to shooting the movie. She shared one scene with a pooch and had to overcome unusual difficulties.

She laughed: “There’s a scene where we’re stuck with this dog, the dog liked to, or had to, pass gas a lot. He was stinky. We had to be in a car all day with the windows rolled up because it was raining. Now New Orleans, summertime, heat, humidity, rain and a stinky dog in the car – it was disgusting. It was so disgusting at times we couldn’t even breathe.”
