Victoria Berg and the Blindfolded Man - I'll Meet You at the Chicken Lodge

Harmless, lo-fi, electro-pop of little note

It's impossible to hate something as blissfully naïve and preposterous as this. Well, almost. Strangley reminiscent of Sleater Kinney having a stab at the twee Japanese pop market, never before has the word “chicken” appeared so many times in one song and with such hilarious consequences. Ultimately, Chicken Lodge is harmless lo-fi electro-pop of little note, with plenty of fuzz and an amusingly earnest middle-eight section. Thanks to their gleeful simplicity, the potential for the daft words to become trapped in the brain like a fart in a lift is maybe even a little terrifying. [Chris Cusack]
