Tina Dico - Give In

a facsimile of the emotional ballad, where the record sleeve is more interesting than the CD

Single Review by Gareth K Vile | 13 Oct 2006
Single title: Give In
Artist: Tina Dico
Label: Finest Gramophone
Rolling along on an accompaniment of acoustic strumming, which respectfully gives way to an anodyne vocal, Give In suggests that the best path is the path of least resistance. Sadly, the musicians involved have taken this advice, creating three minutes of forgettable, trite platitudes. Not only does this record advocate surrender, it encourages apathy in the listener and is insultingly simple, lacking even the merest suggestion of panache, emotion or style: a facsimile of the emotional ballad, where the record sleeve is more interesting than the CD itself. This single is out on October 16.
