Three Blind Wolves – Echo On The Night Train / Honey Fire

Single Review by Ryan Drever | 07 Dec 2010
Single title: Echo On The Night Train
Artist: Three Blind Wolves
Label: Instinctive Raccoon/Euphonios
Release date: Out Now

Still rooted in the Americana of his previous musical incarnation, Ross Clark And The Scarfs Go Missing, the moustachioed songsmith sounds like he's having a ball on new double A-side, Echo On The Night Train / Honey Fire – along with the rest of the newly-dubbed Three Blind Wolves.

The single sets off stomping and jangling before seeping into choruses of strong drunken sing-along potential, with Clark's voice sounding raw and cracked, bringing to mind elements of Modest Mouse's Isaac Brock. The foot-tapping soon mutates into mild head-banging though when a brisk change of pace ushers in a grungy melee of ‘whoahs’ and chunky strums – more promise from the rechristened group.
