The Divine Comedy - To Die A Virgin

A dollop from The Zutons, a pinch of the Scissor Sisters, and a complete lack of inspiration combine to make this track one of the most intolerable in recent memory

Like elevator music with vocals, there is nothing in this track that the world couldn't do without. A dollop from The Zutons, a pinch of the Scissor Sisters, and a complete lack of inspiration combine to make this track one of the most intolerable songs in recent memory. The same irritating happy-go-lucky beat persists throughout, the fact that it's repeated by an orchestra of instruments doesn't make it any less unbearable. If you like your music bland and boring, jump onto this, otherwise avoid or you might just end up jumping off a bridge. Regardless, it will probably get plenty of radio play. [Xavier Toby]
