The Academy Is… make just about, the most radio-friendly punk-influenced music ever to be find its way onto a stereo. They encapsulate Midtown's unique ability to create infantile melodies and the obnoxiousness of Hot Hot Heat, all while trying to sound as much like Fall Out Boy as possible. It's boring, derivative punk-pop nonsense that's supposed to be expressive but just sounds like the suburban carping of middle-class morons. Even for Fueled By Ramen, We've Got A Big Mess On Our Hands is low. Whiney and annoying and little more, it begs the question, "How can things get any worse?" [Neil Ferguson]
