Tapes 'n Tapes - Omaha

The latest offering from Tapes 'n Tapes' jewel-encrusted debut 'The Loon', Omaha has that distinctly final-single-from-an-album kind of feel to it. Far from an instant floor-filler, its looped keyboard tinkling takes its time to embed itself in your brain, but once it's there, it's hard to shift. Coupled with the sensitive murmurings of vocalist Josh Grier and a singalong chorus, there is definite beauty here. However, the tarnish comes in the form of repetition and the feeling that this is one release too far. [Jon Seller]
