Steeple Remove - Love Machine

If you ever wished that Blade Runner was a perfect pop song, then this is for you.

Single Review by Ali Maloney | 14 Aug 2006
Single title: Love Machine
Artist: Steeple Remove
Label: Genepool
Combing vast cathedral drone and clashing guitars with caresses from otherworldly psychedelic vocals, Steeple Remove are a million miles from anything else that could be called industrial/future pop. It's ominous and deep in such a non-contrived way that suggests these guys don't care whether everyone likes what they do, and because of this honesty it ironically succeeds in doing everything that great music should. It rocks. It bounces. It sticks in your head and fucks around with the wiring whilst it's in there. If you've ever wished that 'Blade Runner' was a perfect pop song, then Steeple Remove are for you. The Love Machine 7" is taken from Steeple Remove's second album 'Radio Silence' and encapsulates the band's sound perfectly. If this is what pop sounds like in the future, put me down for the long haul. [Ali Maloney]
