Omnipotent IDM megalith Hyperdub haven't ringfenced the entire flock of elite UK Funky 12" quite yet – Numbers’ latest offering from messrs Roska and Untold, together here as a unit for the first time, ensures that the honeymoon period for a genre that has swarmed the contents of your average DJ’s record bag continues apace. Myth’s busy textures are hijacked somewhat by its hyper-percussive tribalism and off-key mosquito synths, but repeated listens prove an irresistibly hypnotic treat. B-side Long Range is a rather more introspective effort, but its teardrop snares and minimalist grooves are no less intriguing. Coming to a sweat-slathered warehouse party near you.
