Well, lookee here. So early in the year, and already we have a rather intriguing release. The thing that gets you first is the voice; it's like a perfect, sneering splice of Karl Hyde from Underworld and Mark E Smith. The music is slightly reminiscent of The Fall's motorik lo-fism, but there's something more. The gauzy texture of the sound, the muted brass that stutters over the upbeat gallop of the A-side and the ghostly drone that underpins the flip are all akin to the likes of Movietone or Bark Psychosis.
