Manic Street Preachers - Autumnsong

Immediate and stripped of any past pomposity...

Single Review by Garry Thomson | 10 Jul 2007
Single title: Autumnsong
Artist: Manic Street Preachers
Label: Columbia
Continuing their Lazarus-like resurrection, this, the second single to be lifted from the stunning Send Away The Tigers, finds the Manics back to their anthemic best. Harking back to their early days with an opening riff that Slash will find achingly familiar and a chorus simply begging to be sung along to live, this is a faultless return to form. Immediate and shorn of pomposity, the rejuvenated Manics aren't satisfied to rest on past glories. Able to stand up to any previous release, they haven't sounded this good in years. [Garry Thomson]
