Korova - Just Like Peter Cook

Dig beneath the overwrought and melodramatic vocals, the talk of beautiful crescendos and "romance in cancer" and there's a lot of promise to be found in this debut single from Edinburgh locals Korova. Guitars roar and squall with passionate conviction, the drummer plays with real feeling and the band deserve kudos for incorporating a brief passage of desolate and mournful violin before the song builds to its violent, jagged coda.
