Hot Club De Paris, namely Paul Rafferty, Mathew and Alasdair Smith, were signed to Moshi Moshi records in 2005. Before that the band worked hard touring up and down the country and have gained quite a following in the process. September through to November this year has also been a busy time for HCdP, with the band playing almost every other day. First single, the humorously named 'Sometimesitsbetternottostickbitsofeachotherineachother…' with corresponding B side 'Your Face Looks All Wrong', was released back in July with their debut album, entitled Drop It 'Til It Pops, following swiftly on its heels a few of months later. Their distinctive blend of speed-indie and day-in-the-life lyrical stylings, along with their close harmonic singing approach results in an amiable sound, a fun little album bubbling with energy - but it will certainly not cater to everyone's tastes.
