Futuro - Keep It Short and Keep It Simple (Self-Released) (Print)

the most fresh-faced, intelligent and addictive EP heard by these ears so far this year

Single Review by Chris Nordeng | 14 Aug 2006
Imagine Josh Homme getting stranded in London circa 2003 and consequently being sucked up inside its art-rock shenanigans. Then imagine he took the train to Glasgow with a will to start up a three-piece where he could express his fascination for this lovable style of rock n' roll yet retain a touch all of his own. Now exchange Josh with a man called Jon McKellan, scrap that stupid story I just told you and BLAM! Keep It Short and Keep It Simple is quite simply the most fresh-faced, intelligent and addictive EP heard by these ears so far this year and the resultant stitching together of Rakes-like razor-sharp riffs with the sound of the U.S.'s finest desert-crawlers is simply irresistible. [Chris Nordeng]
This EP is out on August 7.
