Dirty Pretty Things - Bang Bang You're Dead

3 minutes of good times with the paparazzi notable by their absence

Single Review by Jon Seller | 16 Apr 2006
Single title: Bang Bang You're Dead
Artist: Dirty Pretty Things
Label: Vertigo
The fate of Carl Barat's Dirty Pretty Things will be charted, for obvious reasons, against a certain 'Shambolic collective. Luckily for the 'Things, this debut offering is infinitely better than anything released by the latter and oozes professionalism and tightness by comparison. As the cheeky brass intro makes way for high-tempo, spiky guitaring and coherent vocals, the importance of Barat to his former band's quite considerable success becomes apparent, and joined admirably by Libs, and a one time Cooper Temple Clausian, the band serve up 3 minutes of good times with the paparazzi notable by their absence. This single is out on April 24.
Dirty Pretty Things play The Liquid Room, Edinburgh on May 19 and Glasgow Barrowlands on the 20th. http://www.dirtyprettythingsband.com
