Badly Drawn Boy - Nothings Going to Change Your Mind

It seems like a distant memory - the vision of everyone's favourite bearded tea cosy wearing Manc troubadour clutching the Mercury Music prize as all around fawned in admiration. Years have passed and sadly Badly Drawn Boy's star hasn't held its initial trajectory. The rambling and shambolic live shows that were endearing at first wore thin and his songwriting lacked consistency. This new single is flecked with touches of the whimsical brilliance that he used to display but it feels slightly half-baked, as if Badly Drawn Boy has lost interest. I think I have too. [Dave Reid]
