Unknown Hagana - EP

There's plenty of good ideas and variety on show.

Single title: EP
Artist: Unknown Hagana
Label: Wasted State
Boasting a generally eclectic collection of songs in the live arena, Unknown Hagana bring the very same to this record. Ranging from good old rock 'n' roll to beat ska revivalism to something not all that far from Biffy Clyro (and with Baltic Connections, all in one song), this EP is filled with enough musical diversities to stop it becoming stagnant. There's plenty of good ideas and variety on show, but just as Lockjaw disappears into a cross of Weezer's Hash Pipe on speed, more ska and some heavy lead riffing, the room for development becomes obvious – the eclectic variety on show does not quite compensate for the lack of a unique sound that is, at times, just too distant to enthuse over.
