Indafusion - 'Runts of Darwin' EP

The press on this release claims, "The Scots have re-invented the power trio" and I really wish this were true. What keeps Indafusion from obtaining this status is another 20 BPM, a guitar tone and a harmonic style to call their own. To their credit, Runts of Darwin contains a highly individualized set of lyrics as it topically takes the form of a concept album covering animals, human animals, and robots. As for I Psychedelicised the Children, I'm not sure if this is an admission, a suggestion, or a childhood recollection. Whatever happened to this EP, I'm guessing it would take more than a bit of mescaline to bring it back around. [Jon Mercer]
