94 Aurora - 94 Aurora EP

Once they find their own sound, they'll certainly be ones to watch.<br/>

Single title: 94 Aurora EP
Artist: 94 Aurora
Label: Self Released
Edinburgh's 94 Aurora nod to a fair range of influences on their self-titled debut EP: opener Hospital is safe, heads down, melodic rock while Distressed Song sounds typically angsty and unsettled, like mid-90s Green Day covered by early-90s Teenage Fanclub. Come To My Senses brings things a little more up-to-date with its emo-leanings and weighty, melancholic subject matter before a joke-metal take on Jackson 5's I Want You Back rounds things off nicely, complete with 80s poodle-rockin' guitar solo. At best, it's a measured marrying of rawk with pop sensibilities and if 94 Aurora settle on a firmer direction there's little doubt they'll make it count. [Barry Jackson]
