Mindless Self Indulgence - If

Raw energy pulses through the veins of every track

Album Review by Michael Slevin | 15 May 2008
Album title: If
Artist: Mindless Self Indulgence
Label: Uppity Cracker Records/The End
Release date: Out Now

MSI had a dilemma ahead of them during the creation of If: how could they create an eagerly-anticipated fifth studio album that was different enough from their last offerings without alienating their loyal (and massive) fanbase? Well, with its release, that question now has an answer: effortlessly. The usual MSI creativity is here in abundance, but with a somewhat more mature feel, surpassing all that has come before and creating some amazingly catchy and rocking tunes. The final studio recordings of Pay For It, Bomb This Track, Revenge, and Mark David Chapman make their appearance alongside newer creations, and all are fantastic; raw energy pulses through the veins of every track to create some awesomely powerful dance-infused electro-punk. This is Mindless Self Indulgence’s magnum opus... so far. Another excellent album from one of the finest bands of the internet generation, in my opinion.
