Mercury-winning, genre-defying Edinburgh pop trio Young Fathers released gripping new song Lord at the end of October, and now the band have shared an equally dramatic video for the track which you can watch in the player above, or via YouTube here. The video focuses in large part on Alloysious Massaquoi, and describing the video Massaquoi said in a statement: "For me, the video stemmed from... Like how do you describe an emotion, clearly and precisely when you’re completely immersed in it all? An act of internal withdrawal from the outside world, when all you need from the outside world is for someone, anyone, to show they care."

Explaining the role of horses (both real and stuffed) in the video, bandmate while Graham ‘G’ Hastings says: "Kayus (Bankole) brought a rocking horse into the studio one day. God knows why. After we wrote the song, Ally sat on it, took his top off and started riding majestic. Then we thought, why not?"

Lord is taken from the band's forthcoming third full-length album, due out in 2018, while the band are set for a UK tour in March that takes in a headline show at the Barrowlands in Glasgow on 24 Mar. In other Young Fathers news, the trio's curated season of films at the Filmhouse in Edinburgh continues this month with screenings of Gerard Corbiau's Baroque epic Farinelli (22 Nov) and Lagos music scene documentary Faaji Agba (29 Nov) – details here.
