The Cherry Wave – Hitch a Glide: Track Premiere

Listen to Hitch a Glide by Glasgow shoegaze quartet The Cherry Wave, taken from their new album Shimaru

Feature by Music Team | 20 Jan 2017

Glasgow quartet The Cherry Wave have rounded off the edges of their wall-of-noise-pop on sophomore album Shimaru, due for release on Monday 23 January.

Ahead of the release we’ve been lucky enough to get an exclusive stream of Hitch a Glide which exemplifies their succinct fuzz-laden pop, combining buzzsaw guitars with reverb-drenched vocal melodies in three melancholic minutes of up-tempo shoegazey pop.

Recorded with Lewis Glass at Glassworks Studio Recording in Glasgow, Shimaru is a more considered and less out-and-out noisy follow-up to their 2015 debut Avalancher. Self-released and self-funded, Shimaru is ten tracks of noisy shoegaze pop and Hitch a Glide is a great introduction to the band if you’re not yet familiar with them.

The Cherry Wave play Bar Bloc on 2 Feb to celebrate their album launch
