The Strange Blue Dreams – Towards The Warm Place (Track Premiere)

Listen to the new track from Glasgow's The Strange Blue Dreams

Feature by Music Team | 05 Apr 2017

The Strange Blue Dreams are an old school skiffle-style band from Glasgow who together uniquely blend rock ‘n’ roll, R&B and rockabilly. The quintet, who formed in 2015, include some of Scotland’s most in-demand roots musicians, and by the end of their first year the five-piece had already appeared at Glastonbury, performed sold out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe and featured in a BBC TV documentary.

Recorded in an afternoon with George Miller – of Scottish beat band The Kaisers – at the controls, The Strange Blue Dreams are set to release their Towards The Warm Place EP via Holy Smokes Records on 8 Apr.

Of the EP, guitarist Duncan Kennedy tells us: “Towards The Wam Place presents 50's pop and rock ‘n' roll peppered with eastern mandolins and sections seemingly borrowed from a music hall tap dance routine. It's like skiffling Eastern meets Western rock 'n' roll from a parallel universe.”
