Just a couple of months on from the release of their Another Ocean single, North Atlas are back with new track Volcanoes, due for release on 17 Nov via King Of The Woöds Recordings. The Glasgow-based four-piece – brothers Leon D Hunter (vocals) and Cam Hunter (drums / samples), Drew Leslie (guitar) and Kai Cairney (bass) – worked with SikTh guitarist and Enter Shikari producer, Dan Weller on the single, which sees the band’s sound combine ambitious stadium rock choruses with driving beats.

You can listen to Volcanoes in the player below; it tackles themes of self-reflection, the importance of understanding one’s self and becoming a better human being. Lead singer Leon D Hunter tells us: “Originally the idea for the song was a drum loop, like Dominoes by The Big Pink, ‘crunky!’ – I wanted to write a song you could put headphones in and stomp down the street to, one that makes you feel unshakeable.

“Lyrically, I feel the song is actually quite positive. Self-reflection is a large part of North Atlas' lyrics – understanding yourself is an important part of becoming a better human and I guess it is a key to self-confidence.”

Volcanoes by North Atlas is out on 17 Nov via King Of The Woöds Recordings.
