LYLO – Nothin' New (Track Premiere)

Listen to Nothin' New, the new single from Glasgow five-piece LYLO

Feature by Music Team | 29 Nov 2018

Recently coming in second in our Scottish Album of the Year poll with their debut album Post Era, Glasgow's resident sax-loving indie popsters LYLO are back with a new single, Nothin' New.

In typical LYLO fashion, the track is a synth-fuelled, funk-packed jam that will surely see frontman Mitch Flynn throwing his usual shapes on stage. The five-piece will be celebrating the single's release with a party at The Rum Shack on 8 December – where you'll be able to witness said dance moves. The night features live performances from the band themselves and Pleasure Pool, with Loosen Up DJs keeping the party going until 1am. Before that though, LYLO drummer Justin Allan tells us a bit more about the new single.

"The track was written and developed over a few weeks and produced with a feeling of urgency. This is something that was new to us and in previous ways we have worked. I think it benefits the track’s erratic nature. We wanted to get a snappy track out there with a lot of energy before the end of the year which sort of condensed a lot of ideas we have been working on of late."

Nothin' New is released on 30 Nov via El Rancho Records; LYLO play The Rum Shack, Glasgow, 8 Dec; Nice 'n' Sleazy, Glasgow, 23 Jan
