The Bishops @ King Tut's

An impressive repertoire of songs that fall somewhere between the vintage styles of The Beatles and The Who.

Twin brothers Mike and Pete Bishop are as fresh-faced as would-be rock stars come, despite the fact their sound takes you back to the early sixties. With an impressive repertoire of songs that fall somewhere between the vintage styles of The Beatles and The Who, their energy on stage strikes as instantly infectious. Their songs have a timeless quality, which, together with the brother's natural talent for melody and harmony is the making of classic pop music. However, with their sharp suits and mop tops The Bishops are in danger of becoming a parody of their own influences. It's a fine line but they seem to fall on the right side of it. The sound may be Liverpool circa 1967 but the quality of the songs and their maturity beyond their years show that the brothers, together with "mad Scottish drummer" Chris McConville, have real potential.
