Sick Kids Sunday 2 @ The GRV, 31 Jan

All-day charity event at The GRV featuring Alasdair Roberts, Sparrow and the Workshop, Eagleowl and Meursault.

Following a successful all-day event back in May, Sick Kids Sunday returns with another jam-packed session of alternative indie, acoustic folk and Americana.

James Yorkston & Adrian Crowley will be playing the songs of Daniel Johnston, a set which proved a treat at the Scottish Mental Health Arts & Film Festival last autumn, as well as an appearance by Alasdair Roberts, whose many credentials include the odd collaborative shoulder rub with Will Oldham and Isobel Campbell.

This healthily large line-up also includes Men Diamler, The Stormy Seas and DJ sets from a host of special guests throughout, including Come on Gang! and Chutes. With local favourites Eagleowl, Martin John Henry (formerly of De Rosa) and Zoey Van Goey also on the bill, as well as the ever profile-raising Woodenbox With a Fistful of Fivers, Sparrow and the Workshop and Meursault; tickets will likely go like the proverbial hot cakes.

Organised by the folks behind the sadly defunct RuBiX night, money raised will go to the Sick Kids Friends Foundation, a fund supporting the Royal Hospital for Children, allowing us all to feel that little bit better a human being as we sup on our pints of bitter. [Lauren Mayberry]

The event runs from 1-11pm. Tickets are £8 in advance, or £10 on the day, available from TicketsScotland.
