Pelican @ Oran Mor, 14 Sep

You'll have to experience this in person to feel the earth move

Article by Jason Morton | 01 Sep 2008

If you happen to be in the west end of Glasgow on Sunday, 14th of September and feel the ground shaking, it's probably not the end of the world. More likely, it'll be the rumbling reverb of droning post-metal act Pelican soaring from Oran Mor, where the four-piece makes the rounds of a European tour with psych-metal outfit and Hydrahead team-mates Torche from Florida. Frequent visitors to Alba and Oran Mor, this makes Pelican's third date in Glasgow in the past year and the first since releasing After the Ceiling Cracked, a CD/DVD document of the heady group's powerful live show. But, although you can now see that London performance just by flicking on the DVD, you'll have to experience it in person to really feel the earth move. [Jason Morton]
