Jenny Lewis @ QMU, 18 Oct

Article by Jason Morton | 25 Sep 2008

Sans Watson Twins, sans Rilo Kiley, ginger indie-pop dream Jenny Lewis breezes into Glesgie in October, hot on the heels of her new LP Acid Tongue, welcoming the back-to-uni crowd. Though starting out as the lead singer of the latter L.A-based quartet with a plucky, if unrefined, trill, Lewis has matured as a vocalist and musician over the course of her career, now employing a deeper croon more reminiscent of the ladies in country music’s golden age. These sentiments roll off her new record, in the form of bluesier tunes such as The Next Messiah and barn-burners like Fernando, and should translate well to her performance at Queen Margaret Union.
