Song, by Toad Anniversary Origin Story @ Leith Depot, 28 Sep
Tonight's Song, by Toad show at Leith Depot will be a bittersweet affair as not only does it mark the Edinburgh label's 10th anniversary but it also marks the end. If you've got tickets already you're no doubt in for a treat... if you've not, we'll see you in the downstairs bar of Leith Depot for what is no doubt to be a rare send-off for a label that us brought us all so much gin, swearing and excellent bands over the last ten years. Toad, we raise our glasses and doff our hats.

KT Tunstall @ The Liquid Room, 28 Sep
It's been almost 14 years since KT Tunstall released Eye to the Telescope and she's still going with her latest album, WAX, due out next month. Catch her at The Liquid Room tonight where you can expect to hear a mix of old and new tracks.

Birdhead album launch @ Brig Below, 28 Sep
After what feels like a long five years since releasing their debut, Edinburgh duo Birdhead are launching their sophomore album Massive Aggressive today. You read that right, the wait is finally over, and as the famous saying goes, good things come to those who wait – Massive Aggressive is a banger! Head down to Leith Walk’s Brig Below to help the pair celebrate this monumental day and be prepared to have your body well and truly assaulted by an abundance of 80s soundscapes, scuzzy electro and face-melting loudness. Yaldi!

Colin Stetson @ Summerhall, 29 Sep
There's a new promoter in town and they go by the name of Edinburgh Music Lovers – tonight is their first outing and they're bringing the mighty SFD (aka Colin Stetson and his huge squalling sax, Greg Fox and Trevor Dunn) to Summerhall for not only their only UK appearance on their upcoming tour, but also Stetson's first ever Scottish date.

Braw Gigs 10th Birthday @ Wee Red Bar, 29 Sep
While a new promoter strolls into town, Braw Gigs are celebrating ten years of putting on out-of-the-ordinary events in the capital. Tonight they party at ECA's Wee Red Bar with music from Wolf Eyes, Guttersnipe and Wheel of Eyes.

Chuchoter @ The Safari Lounge, 29 Sep
Edinburgh electro-pop duo Chuchoter recently released their debut EP Pieces and are bringing the party to The Safari Lounge's basement tonight as part of Supper Club #2 which, disclaimer, two of us hoodlums from The Skinny co-run with some pals. But don't let that put you off. Support tonight comes from Grand Champ 1990 whose debut EP Pressure Points is out the day before.

Callum Mackinnon @ Leith Depot, 29 Sep
If Americana is more your bag then head down to Leith Depot tonight for an evening of all things Americana, folk and country as Callum Mackinnon launches his debut mini-album, Under the Winter Sun.

The Pearl Harts @ The Mash House, 1 Oct
London-based blues rockers The Pearl Harts will thrill you with their hair-raising riffs and growly vocals. Oh, and their debut album is called Glitter and Spit, so extra points for that too. The duo, made up of Kirsty Lowery and Sara Leigh Shaw, have been tipped for big things, so catch them in an intimate venue before they get huge.

Scottish Event of the Week

[CRYSTAL by James A. Grant]

Tenement Trail @ Various, Glasgow, 29 Sep
When their initial line-up announcement was very male-oriented we didn't feel all that inspired, even if they did have The Cribs headlining. Since that firstannouncment, however, they have added some top notch bands featuring some equally top notch ladies. As well as the Jarmans be sure to also catch some of our faves: Walt Disco, Love Sick, CRYSTAL, The Van T's and Annie Booth. Taking place across ten of Glasgow's finest venues with more than 60 acts playing throughout the course of the day, this is bound to be bags of fun. Let the trail commence!
