Cross Reference 2007 @ Ego

Whilst we watch silly entertainment, the Red Cross are busy helping people with far more important things to worry about

Whilst the Edinburgh Festival offers us prosperous sophisti-cats many hours of silly entertainment, joke-provoking art and extended licenses to get steamin', the Red Cross are busy helping people with far more important things to worry about, and putting enjoyment on the back foot. Except this year they're not forgetting fun, because that's how we carefree kids operate. On Sunday the 5th of August, the Red Cross are holding a fundraiser at Club Ego that'll be as mindlessly enjoyable as anything in the city this month. Cross Reference 2007 will see local 70s heroes The Rezillos wring the wry punk out of their middle-age quandary, whilst Steve Mason – Beta Band, King Biscuit Time – returns with new project Black Affair. Plus there's hip-hop, rock and even bluegrass acts covering both floors, and many musical prizes to be won – what a whole heap of fun! Just don't dampen the mood by turning your brain on and getting all serious on us, like. Sheesh! [Ally Brown]
