First listen: PAWS – Misled Youth

Feature by Caroline Fenton | 03 May 2012

Glasgow pop-punk three-piece PAWS are heading down to Brighton's Great Escape Festival this month to play the Scottish Showcase stage alongside Admiral Fallow and Bwani Junction, brought to you by our good selves and the Scottish Music Industry Association.

Recently signed to FatCat, the band are releasing their Misled Youth EP as a limited-edition cassette tape on 14 May, and are kindly offering Skinny readers a sneak peek of the new material with a free stream.

Singer/guitarist Phil Taylor describes the process of making the cassette thus: “We recorded it by ourselves all in one day. We had a brand new bunch of songs and whenever we have new songs, we always try to record them as soon as we possibly can. With the exception of BAINZ, they were all written/ completed in a week and recorded by the weekend. I think it's a good representation of what we are up to just now.”

Catch them in Brighton on Sat 12 May, 12.30-3.30pm at Horatio's, Brighton Pier Misled Youth, limited edition hand-numbered cassette is out on 14 May http://www.wehavepaws.com/
