Slither

Saving the world one ugly worm at a time

Film Review by Megan Garriock | 15 Jun 2006
Film title: Slither
Director: James Gunn
Starring: Nathan Fillion, Michael Rooker
Release date: Out now

An alien meteorite crashes into the woods of a small town, plaguing the locals with an infestation of deadly slugs. And when Starla Grant's (Elizabeth Banks) husband Jack (Gregg Henry) comes home looking somewhat similar to blended calamari, zombie groans, gory creatures, and zany one-liners ensue. Filion (of 'Serenity') takes on the leading man role as Bill Pardy, the chief of police trying to save the world one ugly worm at a time. Although the film initially feels sluggish in pacing (see what I did there?), it's well worth the payoff in laughs and scares. A fun infection. [Megan Garriock]
