Little Man

Utterly rancid on every conceivable level.

Film Review by Paul Greenwood | 13 Oct 2006
Film title: Little Man
Director: Keenen Ivory Wayans
Starring: Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Kerry Washington, Tracy Morgan, Chazz Palminteri
Release date: September 1st
Certificate: 12A

The most remarkable thing about this film is that it's even worse than the trailer and synopsis suggested it would be, wherein a couple of moronic crooks (Morgan and Marlon Wayans, his head CG-ily grafted onto the body of a midget) steal a diamond which ends up in the possession of Shawn Wayans and Washington's apparently even dumber married couple. Rather than simply stealing it back, Wayans poses as a baby (seriously) to retrieve it from them, while crime boss Palminteri also tries to track it down. Even allowing for the sheer absurdity of the plot, the stupidity of the characters, the atrocious special effects and a farcical last act which veer into sentimentality - and even if we look beyond the rampant racism, misogyny and violence towards children - 'Little Man' is still utterly rancid on every conceivable level.
