Liverpool Psych Fest: New wave of artists announced

Feature by News Team | 30 Jun 2015

The Skinny is delighted to exclusively announce the acts playing the Cardinal Fuzz Sonic Attack stage at Liverpool Psych Fest in September.

Manchester three-piece Dead Sea Apes, San Francisco mind-benders Lumerians, Nottingham’s Cult of Dom Keller, and Bristol rockers The Heads will all appear courtesy of record label Cardinal Fuzz.

Based across Leeds, Stalybridge and Honley, the label is home to the likes of White Manna, Hills and Dead Meadow, and will be putting out Dead Sea Apes' new album, Spectral Domain, in the autumn. The stage will also host a further appearance from The Heads’ frontman, Simon Price, performing with his Kandodo 3 project.

Taking place across the weekend of 25-26 Sep and set in the heart of the Baltic Triangle, a redeveloped industrial district, Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia (or Psych Fest for short) has gone from strength to strength since its formation in 2012, and while early announcements for this year’s instalment like Menace Beach, Evil Blizzard and Hey Colossus were exciting in themselves, the addition earlier this year of Jason Pierce’s Spiritualized as headliners suggested the 2015 showing could be the best one yet.

Hookworms, recent Sounds from the Other City favourites Pinkshinyultrablast and Benjamin John Power of Fuck Buttons’ solo project, Blanck Mass, are also among the highlights.

Weekend tickets are priced £60 and on sale now from liverpoolpsychfest.com
