Spiritualized to headline Liverpool Psych Fest

Feature by News Team | 24 Feb 2015

The Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia has announced its first wave of acts for 2015, with Spiritualized set to headline one day of the event.

With the set-up newly expanded to introduce a fourth stage, Psych Fest will take place between 25-26 September, at its usual home centred around Camp & Furnace in the city's Baltic Triangle district.

It will also feature a stage co-curated by Brooklyn's Sacred Bones Records (current home to the disparate likes of Moon Duo, John Carpenter and Amen Dunes) and Chile's BYM Records, with additional acts including Evil Blizzard, Menace Beach and Virginia Wing.

Formed by ex-Spacemen 3 songwriter Jason Pierce in 1990, Spiritualized first came to prominence with their third album, 1997's Ladies And Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space, going on to release four further LPs to widespread critical acclaim. A new album is set to follow their Psych Fest appearance.

Further details, including tickets and accommodation, are available on the Psych Fest website. A short video from the organisers, announcing the coming event, can be viewed below.
