EdenFest @ AE Forest, Dumfries & Galloway, 4-6 Sep

Feature by Fiona Reid | 26 Aug 2009

The family-friendly Eden festival taking place in the picturesque meadows of Ae Forest in Dumfries and Galloway will be a welcome change from the money-grabbing focus of most modern festivals. With atmosphere and eco-friendliness at the forefront of proceedings, recycling, healthy food and locally sourced products are top of the bill. Spread across 5 stages, acts range from alternative rockers The Levellers and Finley Quaye, to the jazzy beats of ZubZub and soulful songs of Emma Gillespie. The dance tent features The Apples, Aphid Moon and crowd pleasers Samba La Bamba. The traditional affair continues in Rabbie’s Tavern where you can raise a tankard to The John Langan Band, Tom Hingley and The Shakes before the nightly Scottish ceilidh. With kids tents, sword swallowing, sculptures, stone labyrinths, workshops and even reduced rates for OAPs, there are no limits to the weird and wonderful things which will mysteriously unravel in the depths of the forest.

£55 (weekend ticket).
