Fringe of Colour's emergence has been one of the Edinburgh Festivals' most exciting developments in recent years. From its inception in 2018 as a database of Fringe shows by artists of colour, FoC has run free ticketing schemes, networking events, panels, parties, and, last year, an expertly-curated online film festival of its own

For its second year, Fringe of Colour Films returns to The Internet with a bumper programme of film work. This year's programme features three pieces by Scotland-based Black queer artists, commissioned by Fringe of Colour for the festival, and another twenty films submitted by filmmakers from across Europe and Africa. All of the films in the programme will have English captions or subtitles, audio descriptions and British Sign Language interpretations; read the full list of films and filmmakers at the foot of the page.

Fringe of Colour Films 2021, which runs from 1 to 15 Aug, is curated around four themes: Protest, Flight ("addressing methods and results of movement and migration"), Rituals and Self. The films themselves run the gamut from documentary and docu-fiction to sketch comedy, poetry to dance, storytelling to animation. Fringe of Colour's excellent Responses programme – inviting writers to produce new work that responds to the themes and content of the festival – will also return, with pieces published on the Fringe of Colour website in August.

Festival passes for Fringe of Colour Films 2021 are on sale now for £10 with a £5 concession; Organisation Passes are available from £50. For full details and to get your tickets, go to fringeofcolour.co.uk
